The destruction is overwhelming. At least 30 homes have been destroyed and a rescue helicopter crashed, killing all five crew members.
The heavy rainfall has affected large parts of the country, including Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
To make matters worse, cloudbursts and a recent heatwave have triggered glacial melt and swelling rivers – especially in Gilgit Baltistan and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This, combined with flash flooding, has caused damage and destruction to buildings and farms and many families have also lost their livestock. In the past 48 hours alone over 300 fatalities have been reported.
There are now predictions of further heavy rainfall and flooding in the coming days and weeks.
Islamic Relief teams are on the ground in Pakistan and are helping affected families during this devastating time. We are closely monitoring the situation should it get worse.

In Rajanpur, we are also providing financial assistance to 250 flood-affected families.
Your vital donations will help families affected by the crisis with a home to both protect them from the elements and rebuild their lives. The homes will include a living space, a kitchen (equipped with a stove), and a bathroom. They will be built with inclusion measures in mind to support the elderly and persons with disabilities, such as widened doors, a ramp, and a commode chair in the bathroom.
Your support could be the difference between life and death for many who have already endured so much. Please support our Pakistan Floods Appeal. Donate Now.

Islamic Relief, a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), has been working in Pakistan since 1992, and were one of the first aid agencies to respond to initial flooding.
Our teams have been working tireless since the initial floods, and are on the ground right now, working with local communities to establish how best to support affected families, who urgently need food, shelter, bedding, and hygiene items.
During the previous floods, Islamic Relief Pakistan supported more than 800,000 people in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh. Your donations enabled us to distribute cash grants, food packs, tents, kitchen sets and hygiene kits.
